Scope and contact
This policy explains information handling in the Furday app, website and support service. The app is available on the App Store for iPhone (not in the EU or mainland China), with an English-only interface. Contact hello@furday.app with privacy questions.
Records on your device
Furday does not require a user account, automatically upload your private journal or provide automatic cross-device sync. It stores pet profiles, photos, journal text, manually entered weather and places, weights, care events, check-ins, relationships, scrapbook layouts and sticker progress on your device. Journal places do not come from GPS, and the app does not read your contacts.
Sharing, import, export and backups
You can export a .furday archive containing your records and photos and save it outside the app. Import shows a preview and asks for confirmation; it replaces the entire current library rather than merging it. A shared PNG or single-page A4 PDF contains only the exported page, not a full backup. You choose the destination, whose own policies apply. Archive checks detect corruption; they are not encryption. Keep the file secure. Your records are included in the iPhone's device and iCloud backup, and Furday can be switched off individually in the iOS backup settings. We have not tested restoring Furday from an iPhone or iCloud backup, so do not rely on that alone: a .furday export is the copy you hold yourself, so save one before changing phones or uninstalling.
Photo and notification permissions
iOS may request camera or photo access when you take, select or save photos, depending on the feature. You can decline and adjust permission in Settings. The app asks for notification permission so that it can deliver local care reminders. You can decline, and reminders can be turned off without affecting the journal. A reminder set for the day before an event arrives at 09:00 local time on that day. A reminder set for the day of the event arrives at 09:00 local time when the event has no time of day, and one hour before the event when it has one. Reminders are scheduled by iOS on this device; the reminder text and the event it refers to are not sent anywhere. A reminder may not arrive if notifications are turned off, silenced or restricted in iOS.
TestFlight testing data
The app does not integrate an analytics SDK. If you test Furday through TestFlight, TestFlight separately collects usage information and crash logs through Apple and shares them with the developer. Feedback and screenshots you submit may include personal information. This information is used to diagnose issues and improve the app. Whether the developer sees your name or email depends on the invitation method. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy notice below.
Website analytics and browser storage
The English and Chinese homepages load Google Analytics 4 to understand website visits. Analytics may use cookies and browser, device and page-visit information. The homepage also requests Google Fonts. A language preference is stored in browser localStorage; clearing site data removes it. Website hosting processes network requests needed to deliver pages. Website analytics does not upload your private app journal. These legal pages do not load GA4 or remote fonts.
Email, feedback and operational records
When you email us, we receive your address, message and attachments and may manually record the enquiry and its handling in internal support records. Send only what is needed to resolve the issue; a full journal is not required. Public App Store reviews and aggregate download reports may also be imported manually. Aggregate downloads do not identify individuals, and linking a review to a contact requires their confirmation. These records do not grant access to your local library or subscribe you to marketing email.
Deletion, retention and privacy requests
Deleting a pet removes its associated local records; uninstalling removes the local app library. Neither action automatically deletes separately saved archives, shared copies, system backups or emails already sent. Manage external copies at their destinations. We cannot restore a private library from a server when it was never uploaded. Contact hello@furday.app about access, correction or deletion of email or feedback records. Data held by third parties is also subject to their processes.
Security and children
The app relies on device security and has no separate app lock. Someone who can unlock the device may be able to open Furday. Device protections and file checks are not an absolute confidentiality guarantee. Furday is intended for pet owners, not specifically for children. Contact us if you believe email or feedback contains a child’s personal information that should not have been provided.
App update checks
Automatic cloud sync is not provided. The app does include an over-the-air update service (Expo Updates), which checks for a newer version of the app's JavaScript each time it starts. That check is sent to Expo's servers and carries the app's runtime version, the platform, the release channel, and an identifier generated at random when Furday was installed and stored on this device — deleting the app removes it, and reinstalling generates a new one. If the previous launch ended in a crash, the check also carries that error message, shortened. The check does not send your pets, journal entries, photos or any other record. If a future build changes what is sent, this policy will be updated accordingly.
