Furday is a private journal for your pet. This policy explains what the app does with what you put into it.
The short version: your pet's journal stays on your phone. Furday has no accounts, no servers holding your data, and no analytics. We cannot read your entries, and neither can anyone else.
1. What Furday stores
Everything you record in Furday is stored on your device only:
- Pet profile — name, species, breed, colour, sex, desexed and microchip status, personality traits, energy level
- Dates — birthday and Gotcha Day
- Photos — profile portraits, up to nine photos per diary entry, album images, and anything you place on a scrapbook page
- Diary entries — your captions and notes, the weather you tag, and the place name you type
- Weight history — the weights and dates you log
- Calendar events — vet appointments, worming, vaccinations, health checks, medication and supply reminders, including recurring ones
- Check-ins — walks, litter changes, feeding, medication and similar, with durations
- Relationships — the names you give to the people and animals in your pet's life
- Scrapbook pages — the layout, papers, stickers and tape you arrange
- Achievements — which stickers you have unlocked
2. What leaves your device
Nothing, unless you send it.
Furday does not upload your journal. There is no account to sign in to, no cloud sync, and no server that holds a copy of your entries.
Data leaves your device only in these situations, and only because you chose it:
- You share something. When you tap share on a memory card, a scrapbook page or a PDF, Furday hands that single file to your phone's system share sheet. Where it goes next — Messages, email, a photo library, another app — is your choice, and that destination's own privacy policy applies from that point on.
- You export your data. Furday can write your whole journal to a single file so you can move it to a new phone. That file goes wherever you save it. It is not sent anywhere by Furday.
3. What Furday does not do
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, no password, no email address collected.
- No analytics or tracking. Furday contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know how many times you opened the app, and we cannot find out.
- No advertising, and no data sold, rented or shared with advertisers, brokers or anyone else.
- No location tracking. Furday never requests access to your location and does not use GPS. The "place" on a diary entry is plain text that you type — nothing more.
- No contacts access. The names under Relationships are names you type. Furday does not read your address book.
4. Permissions Furday asks for, and why

You can decline either one. Furday will keep working; you simply won't be able to add photos that way. You can change your mind at any time in your device's Settings.
Furday does not ask for location, contacts, microphone, notifications, calendar, or health data.
5. Children
Furday is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects nothing and stores everything locally, there is no children's data for us to hold, access or delete.
6. Deleting your data
- Delete one pet — deleting a pet in the app removes that pet and everything attached to it: photos, diary entries, weights, calendar events, check-ins, relationships and scrapbook pages.
- Delete everything — uninstalling Furday removes all of its data from your device.
Because your data never reaches us, there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf. There is also no way for us to recover your data if you delete it or lose your device — please read the next section.
7. Backups and moving to a new phone — please read this
Furday's data is not included in your iPhone's iCloud or device backup. This is a deliberate choice by the underlying storage the app uses, and it means:
- Restoring a new phone from a backup will not bring your journal with it
- Installing Furday on a new phone gives you an empty app
- Moving between iOS and Android will not carry your data
To move your journal to a new phone, use Furday's export feature and keep the file somewhere safe. We recommend exporting periodically, the same way you would keep a copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.
8. Security
Your journal is protected by your device's own protections — your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and your phone's disk encryption. Furday adds no separate lock of its own. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open Furday.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of Furday changes what it does with your data — for example if optional cloud sync is ever added — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the app. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
